Maungdaw, Arakan State: An old woman was fined Kyat 300,000 by the police on May 12 in Maungdaw Town, on allegations that she had been involved in exchange of money, a close relative of the victim said.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Natala villagers had stabbed a Rohingya villager, who died in Maungdaw Hospital yesterday (on May 13), while undergoing medical treatment. He was stabbed by Natala villagers of Taungbro left on May 10, while the victim accompanied by other villagers stopped the Natala villagers from catching fish from their shrimp projects, a close relative of the victim said.

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh:  A 15-member high-level European Union delegation led by Dr. Stefan Frowein visited the Burmese refugee camps of Cox’s Bazaar district to monitor the situation of official and unofficial refugee camps on May 11, says our correspondent.

Dhaka, Bangladesh: Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Dipu Moni leaves today for Burma to ask her counterpart not to mobilize troops along the border to implement a recent decision to fence the frontier and to discuss the Rohingya refugee issue, a top Foreign Ministry official said.

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh:  Angry Rohingya refugees attacked and damaged NGO offices at Ledda camp, the unofficial camp of the Teknaf union on May 11, at about 2 pm, half an hour after the departure of a high-level European Union delegation, said a refugee from Camp.
