Maungdaw, Arakan State: A minor girl was raped by soldiers of the Burmese Army on May 6, at about 7:30 pm, in Maungdaw Township, said a close relative of the victim on condition of anonymity.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: About 1,000 acres of land have been confiscated in Maungdaw Township for Natala (model) villagers after the Western Command Commander Brig General Thaung Aye visited the northern Arakan on May 4, said a businessman from locality on condition of anonymity.

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh:  Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) will not be idle if Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) erects fences on the Burma-Bangladesh border areas breaking the international law, said the BDR Director Major General Moinul Islam at a meeting held in BDR 15 Battalion on May 4.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Nasaka Burma’s border security force arrested a village Peace and Development Council Chairman (VPDC) on the allegation that he had submitted applications to the higher authorities against one of the Nasaka area commanders in Maungdaw Township, said our correspondent.
