Teknaf, Bangladesh: A Bangladeshi fishing boat was seized by Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) in the wee hours of yesterday, while fishing near Saint Martin Island in the Bay of Bengal, according to local people.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Sector Commander’s of Bangladesh and Burma’s border security forces met in Maungdaw on October 29, to discuss the border situation and to maintain peace in the border areas, said an official from Maungdaw.

Buthidaung, Arakan State: The Buthidaung Township Peace and Development Council   (TPDC) Chairman ordered that 820 houses in Buthidaung south be vacated. The order was issued on June 20, this year. The Nasaka has alleged that the houses were built on farm lands, said a school teacher from Buthidaung on condition of anonymity.

Kyawtaw, Arakan State: A clash occurred between soldiers and bamboo cutters in Kyauktaw while the troops were collecting toll on October 27, at about 6 pm, according to a local from Kyauktaw.
