Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: Forty eight Burmese prisoners, who were released from Bangladeshi jails were handed over to Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) during a flag meeting between the border forces of the two countries on the bank of the Naf River at about 10:00 am today, according to Teknaf 42 Rifles Battalion Commander Lt Col Mozammel Hossain of the Bangladesh Rifles.

Teknaf Bangladesh: Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) seized 800 Yaba tablets from a passenger on his way to Cox’s Bazar from Teknaf, a border town of Bangladesh, yesterday.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) since the beginning of this month has been collecting thatches from Arakanese Rohingya villagers in Maungdaw north, Arakan State for the ceremonial cremation of a monk’s relics, according to a local trader.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Refugees in Nayapara camp went on strike today to protest the kicking of a woman refugee by a doctor while she was queuing for medicine at a clinic in the camp. Her father was also severely beaten up by a younger brother of the doctor, said one of the refugees from the camp.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: A flag meeting between Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) will be held on March 4 in the Teknaf rest house, where 48 Burmese nationals will be handed over to Nasaka, according to Col. Mozammal Hossain, the Commanding Officer (CO) of 42 BDR Battalion in Teknaf.
