Maungdaw, Arakan State: Burma's border security force, or Nasaka of Bawli Bazaar seized goods from a businessman on August 21, when he had reached home with goods from Bangladesh, said a friend of victim on condition of anonymity.

Ann, Arakan State: The Western Command Commander has ordered the people of Arakan to convert Ann to a green town in the monsoons. The directives came at a meeting of the authorities at the Western Command Headquarters in Ann on August 10, according to sources.

Buthidaung, Arakan Stat: The Light Infantry Battalion, or LIB No.535 in Buthidaung has been collecting toll from villagers since the last four years, according to a village elder.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: The World Food Program (WFP) provided relief material to poor families and widows in Bawli Bazaar village tracts in Maungdaw Township on August 19, said a school teacher.

Buthidaung, Arakan State: The Township Peace and Development Council (TPDC), or Mayaka of Buthidaung Township confiscated about 280 acres of paddy fields from farmers of Ngaran Chaung village tract recently. The confiscation was made on the allegation that the farmers did not comply with the order to grow paddy again, said a schoolteacher on condition of anonymity.
