Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Deputy Home Minister U Phone Swe, Director of Immigration from Rangoon along with a seven-member Rohingya delegation visited north Arakan on November 19, said a student from Maungadw Town on condition of anonymity.

Maungdaw, Aralkan State: The Tactical Operation Commander (TOC) stationed in Buthidaung Town has ordered the Village Peace and Development Council (VPDC) Chairmen of Maungdaw and Buthidaung Townships on November 14, to send youths to the concerned Nasaka area for ‘Fire Service’ training, said a VPDC chairman from Maungdaw Township.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: Two Village Peace and Development Council (VPDC) Chairmen and a Sayadw (monk) of Maungdaw Township were arrested by Burma’s border security force (Nasaka) recently on the allegation that they were involved in anti-government activities, said a  local elder who declined to be named.

Paris, France: Over a dozen students of a Distant University Course have been barred from sitting for their examination in Sittwe University on 20 November, according to Hla Aung, the President of  the National Democratic Party for Human Rights (in exile) NDPHR.

Kyaukpru, Arakan State: The Burmese military junta seized about 50 acres of land along with 34 traditional hand-dug oil wells on November 10 from villagers and an oil company in Kyaukpru Township, because oil was being produced from the land, said a close relative of Saw Shin.
