Buthidaung, Arakan State: Nasaka, (Burma’s border security force) personnel have been harassing Arakanese Rohingya since January 2010 in Buthidaung township, according to a villager.

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: Another Arakanese Rohingya driving committee named “Youths Awareness of Ukhiya” was formed in Ukhiya union under Cox’s Bazaar district on January 4, after a protest meeting over Arakanese Rohingya refugees in Ukhiya with local youths and elders, said a local youth from the area on condition of anonymity.

Dhaka,Bangladesh: The three-day Biswas Ijtema (congregation) concluded successfully yesterday, with the participation  of over 200,000 perople from more than 70ountries including Middle East, Central Asia, Asia and Africa, said a participant.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Seven-families comprising 30 refugees including women and children from Nayapara and Kutupalong camps have been selected recently for resettlement in United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA), according to a refugee leader from Nayapara camp.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: Over 60 tents of Rohingya refugees, built near Teknaf bus-station before the Rohingya Resistance Committee (RRC) was formed in Teknaf, were destroyed by the local authorities along with police on January 23, said one of the refugees whose tent was also destroyed.
