Buthidaung, Aakan State: Two Sarapa (Military Intelligence) personnel were severely beaten up by villagers in the second week of December when they went to villages and tried to arrest villagers on various allegations to extort money, said a village elder on condition of anonymity.

Maungdaw, Arakan State: A Nasaka (Burma’s border security force) Sergeant U Myint (40), accompanied by two others of Aung Mangala Nasaka outpost of Maungdaw Township tried to assault a Rohingya woman physically on December 30, at about 5:00 pm, while  female members were absent in the house, said a close relative of the victim.
