Teknaf, Bangladesh: The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) seized 316 Yaba tablets from border area on January 26 and arrested a Bangladeshi involved in smuggling, said a trader in Teknaf.

The BDR from Battalion No. 42 of Teknaf carried out raids and arrested a smuggler with 316 Yaba tablets, but others escaped arrest.

The arrested smuggler was identified as Boul Meah (32), son of Shar Mullok of Nataung Para, Teknaf.

A local businessman from Teknaf said that all drug tablets were coming from Burma through different routes to Teknaf. But he was unable to say who controls the business in Teknaf.

The arrested smuggler was handed over to Tekanf police station with the 316 Yaba tablets by BDR. A case was filed, said a close aide of BDR.
