Buthidaung, Arakan State: Tomas Ojea Quintana United Nations human rights envoy along with  Steve Marshal, ILO officer of Rangoon, visited north Arakan on February 17, said an aide of the Township Peace and Development Council (TPDC) in Buthidaung.

Chittagong, Bangladesh: The government of Thailand repatriated 28 boatpeople Bangladeshi boatpeople to Bangladesh on February 16, who were held along with 200 Arakanese Rohingya boatpeople from the sea by Thai authorities over a year ago, sources said.

Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh: Since January 30, boat people, mostly Rohingya people from Arakan and from Bangladesh have resumed their journey to Malaysia from Bangladesh, said a local from Teknaf on condition of anonymity.

Teknaf, Bangladesh: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the police seized nearly 400 Yaba tablets from different places on the border in a raid on February 15 and arrested three Bangladeshi nationals including a Rohingya for smuggling, said a local from Teknaf.
