Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Burmese military junta is going to build a new border trade gate in the Burmese border security force (Nasaka) section number 5 in Maungdaw, according to a local trader.

The new border trade gate will be situated on the waqe (religious) ground, belonging to Majed, which is near the gate in Ngakhura village. It started on March 18, under the supervision of section Commander, Major San Win Khaine, said a local from Ngakhura village.

The order from the higher authorities is to finish within a short time, so the commander ordered the village authorities near the new gate to supply work force to build the new gate. The Commander used 50 to 80 people from the village daily without paying any wage, the local said.

It is also learnt that the border trade officers will arrive at the new gate on March 30.
