Buthidaung, Arakan State: Officers of the Burmese Army Battalion No.552 looted goods from a shopkeeper in Buthidaung Township and the shop owner was severely tortured for asking for money from them on August 6, said a close relative of the victim who declined to be named.

Buthidaung, Arakan State: Major Sein Win, the Commander of Burma’s border security force of Nasaka area No. 9 of Buthidaung Township accused  five innocent villagers of a robbery in a village two months ago and extorted a fat sum of money from them, said  a close relative of the victims.

Buthidaung, Arakan State: A youth in Buthidaung Township was severely beaten up by soldiers on August 7 because he came out of his home late when Corporal Soe Mya of Battalion No. 552 of the Burmese Army summoned him for forced labour, said a close relative of the victim.
