Maungdaw, Arakan State: High Yielding Variety (HYV) of tea known as BT-2 is being cultivated in vast areas for the first time in Bandarban Hill Tract of Bangladesh near Arakan State. So, it is also possible to grow this kind of tea in north Arakan as the weather and the soil are the same, said a schoolteacher from Arakan knowledgeable about tea cultivation.
