Teknaf, Bangladesh: The undocumented refugees of Leda camp (Tal) have been suffering from chicken pox, pneumonia and measles and fever recently, said a refugee from Leda camp.

”Many refugee children including some woman have been suffering from tropical diseases since the first week April 2012.”

“Mostly the refugee children under five to seven years old are suffering with these diseases.”

According to sources, the refugee patients go to clinic of Muslim Aids for treatment, but doctors can’t give treatment all patients in a days for more patients.

Sources also said that the doctors give treatment locals and refugees the same times – 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Another refugee said, the local guards give some priorities to  the local patients to get  quick treatment in the clinic, but refugees don’t get like same chance from the guards. Refugees have to wait for long queue.

Over 12,000 undocumented refugees live in the Leda camp (Tal) who has not been  recognized by UNHCR and Bangladesh authority since long, said an aide who works in the Muslim Aids.
