Maungdaw, Arakan State: The high level officers from Maungdaw district told Buddhist Rakhine from Bangladesh at Patha Rakhine village of Nwahyon Taung (Hor O dil) on February 22, to organize their relatives and friends to join with them and make the border areas as Buddhist populated areas, said Khin Maung Lwin, the Maungdaw district admin officer.

“We want to change this place with Buddhist community, so we need your help to stay here and organized your relatives and friends from Bangladesh to join with you here to populate Buddhist areas. Please, don’t go back to Bangladesh after a few months. We will provide all sorts for your survival and will tell to UNHCR to provide aids as other community getting here, said Khin Maung Lwin to 20 families of Rakhine Buddhist who migrate to Maungdaw and staying in Patha village of Nwahyon Taung.

Similarly, Maungdaw Township admin officer, Hla Myint told to the Bangladeshi Rakhine that the Maungdaw district is Bengali populated areas and a few Buddhist community are living here. We want to change the situation of majority Bengali community by calling Rakhine community from Bangladesh and settling here with all facilities for Buddhist community survival.  I am requesting to you, make more population of Buddhist here by calling your relatives, villagers and friends from Bangladesh and please don’t leave this areas after few months. We will help you and will get full facility from Government and your citizenship.

The Burma border guard police director general Tin Ko Ko and high level military officers including Tactical Operation Commands (TOC) who mention their names and encouraged the Rakhine Buddhist from Bangladesh to stay in the areas and will help all sorts for their survival.

The high level officers from Maungdaw are trying to settle Rakhine Buddhist community from Bangladesh by giving all kinds of facilities to them, but the officers are trying to drive out Rohingya community from their home land and forcing them to identify Bengali as race in the name of Rohingya. What a democracy country to give satisfaction to two different community in one place and one areas, said Alam, a local leader from Maungdaw?
