Cox's Bazaar, Bangladesh: The Food and Disaster Management Adviser to the Bangladesh government, Tapan Chowdhury yesterday stressed on resolving the problem of repatriating Rohingya refugees to Burma through bilateral talks at the top level, according to an official report.

He was exchanging views with representatives of the local administration and concerned agencies during a visit to the Nayapara Rohingya refugee camp under Teknaf Upazila, in Cox's Bazaar district yesterday noon.

The Deputy Commissioner of Cox's Bazaar and UNHCR officials were present, among others.

The adviser inquired about the living conditions of the refugees, their health and other related issues, said one of the Majee's in the camp.

Later, Tapan Chowdhury visited the UNHCR-funded school for refugee children, a sewing training centre and a small-scale laundry soap industry.

He talked to the refugees about the ongoing welfare programmes for them.
