Dhaka, Bangladesh: Bangladesh will participate in the third Grand Royal Challenge Cup to be held in Burma from November 1, 2007, according to official reports.

The Under-23 footballers will represent Bangladesh in the tournament, said Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) acting general secretary Manjur Hossain Malu.

He said that a letter from the BFF confirming Bangladesh’s participation in the tournament was sent on Tuesday (on August 28) night to the Burma Football Federation.

"We will pick a preliminary squad in the first week of September after the return of national coach Sayed Nayeemmuddin, who is now vacationing in India ," Malu said.

Earlier on August 18, the Burma Football Federation invited BFF ( Bangladesh ) to take part in the tournament.

The Burma Football Federation also invited four other countries--- Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam--- to take part in the tourney.

In 2005, Bangladesh was runners-up in the same tournament.
