Buthidaung, Arakan State:  A Rohingya woman and her new born baby died from lack of treatment in Buthidaung Township, in Arakan State, said her husband Jalal.

The woman Halama Khatun (30), wife of Jalal, hailed from Fatiya Para (village) in Buthidaung Township.

The woman was admitted to Buthidaung Hospital on September 20, for delivering her third child. She gave birth to a child following a caesarian section. Her husband had to pay kyat 50,000 to the doctor.  The doctor advised blood transfusion. So the husband got a sachet of blood for Tk. 8, 000 from a blood bank.

But before the blood transfusion she died on September 22. Later her new born child also died.

According to her relatives, she died as the umbilical cord remained inside her abdomen because of the negligence of the doctor.
