A meeting was held between Burmese Rohingya Organization (BROUK) and Burmese Muslim Association (BMA) in London on October 27 at about 3 p.m. on the current situation in Burma, said Khurshid Ahmed, joint secretary and information secretary of BROUK 

Mr. Nurul Islam, president of Arkan Rohingya National Organization, members of BROUK and members of BMA attended the meeting.

Daw Nu Nu, mother of Hamza delivered an inaugural speech regarding unity among all Muslims from Burma. She was elected the chairman of the meeting.

Mr. Islam, of ARNO gave a brief speech regarding Muslim participation from all sectors of Burma through history and how they had sacrificed their lives for an independent Burma. He also pointed out the major reasons behind problems facing Burma. He said that although the nature of the problems faced by one Muslim group looks different form from another group, the root cause is basically the same, which is our faith-Islam.

He suggested to both BMA and BROUK to share information, monitor human rights violations against Muslims in Burma, create awareness among the British on Muslim issues in Burma and work for social welfare, education and uplift of the people of the community.

Mr. Hamza (Kyaw Zwar), president of BMA expressed happiness at the gathering. He also urged for frequent meetings. The members discussed issues they needed to resolve. Both BMA and BROUK agreed to have regular meetings every two months, said a BMA member.

The meeting concluded about 6 p.m ., after adopting resolutions and chalking out future plans.
