Rathedaung, Arakan State: A man was arrested by Nasaka, Burma's security force while on his way home after praying in a mosque at about 9 pm on September 4.  He was picked up on the allegation that he went to a neighbours house , said a close relative of the victim. 

 

The victim was identified as Md. Jobair (27), son of Rahamat Ullah, from Donsay Para of Rathedaung Township, Arakan State.

 

On September 4, Md. Jobair was arrested by Nasaka from camp No.21, after Asher Namaz in the local mosque.

 

He was taken to the Nasaka camp, detained and tortured for extortion.  

 

On September 5 he was released after he paid Kyat 30,000 to the Nasaka officer.

 

A village elder said "It is calculated harassment of the Rohingya community."
