Teknaf, Bangladesh: A concert for disabled people was held in Nayapara refugee camp on October 29, from 10 am to noon, to provide motivation for their future, said Habib,a school teacher from camp.

 

The program was organized by the Handicap International, Bangladesh with the help of the UNHCR.

 

The speakers for the program were:- Nazum Uddin, Camp in Charge of Nayapara Camp, Mr. Christopher Van, Head of Handicap International, India, Mrs. Menoa, Officer of UNHCR Social Service, he said.

 

The disabled children from the camp honoured the speakers with flower bouquets. 

 

"We need to care for them in our society and help them, to encourage them as human beings so that they can do every thing and so that they are able to fight for their survival in their family. We should take care of disabled people in order to improve their life," said Nazum in his speech.

 

Mr. Christopher Van also requested the gathering to help and take care of disabled people, so that they can fight for their survival.

 

The speakers all spoke about encouraging disabled people and of helping them in their daily life.

 

The program ended with songs sung by disabled people from the camp.
